I have been told about this book and was thrilled when I
found a copy at the Salt Lake City Family History Library several years ago.
This book was compiled by Charlotte Hilts Steele and Harry Doner and assisted
by Many Others.
I hope to write many blog posts using the information found
in this book and hopefully find some documents to support the facts reported in
this book.
But first a little about the compilers of this book.
Charlotte Hilts was born Aug 15, 1908 in North Dakota the
daughter of William Henry S Hilts and Isabell Jane Anderson. On December 24,
1938 in Multnomah, Oregon she married Oscar C Steele who born Jul 24, 1899 in
Oregon, the son of Wellington R Steele and Emma Effenhes. Oscar died on Feb 11,
1988 and is buried in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens located in Albany, Linn
County, Oregon. Charlotte died shortly after on Feb 22, 1988 and buried by his
side.

Harry Doner was born Jan 28, 1895 in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Samuel Doner and Louisa Huth. He also co-authored the book “The Doners in Canada 1806-1974”. He married Dorothea Swanson who was born 1898 and died in 1945. Harry died in 1982. Both are buried in Stayner, Simcoe County, Ontairo, Canada.
